Always thought reality TV is something in part of your being that loses/ignores the actual reality at that particular point of time.. The seemingly unrealistic world created by people which forms stories which are invariably stranger than fiction.. Coming from one of the queen of this screwd up dramas and one of the brilliant talent coming through in Indian cinema DIBAKAR BANERJEE this movie is entirely brilliant in almost all aspects... I always thought this Chopra's and Khan's era in Indian cinema is the exact dark ages in terms of decline in art, culture and some screwd-up Indian fiction which made the mass lose their sense of reality.. Where creativity declined to almost zero except for some flash of a firefly once in a while..
I was watching Love, Sex aur Dhoka after recommendations from Prathemesh :) and was actually remembering one of my all time favorites Amores Perros 21 Grams genres throughout the plot and the story line is invariably same but I liked the way he has portrayed the Indian stories here in the dizzy, gripping, bizzare, childish sequences which forms our reality. From Aditya chopra's bakwass fantasy love stories which leads to the murky people involved with films which actually ends in an honour killing. The second story of MMS scandals and desperation and fckdup state behind it.. And the third about the corporate, showbiz and political betrayals fueled by the media to get the more sensational news as possible so they can run that story for almost a season.. The director has gone berserk in showing the you direct images as if you are watching them personally their personal lives through hand held cameras and CCTV point of views.. (which is where it differs from the perros and others)
To show the society as it is one thing.. and to show your fcked up fantasy life is another. Its one of the good movies that is changing the MOVIE psyche with respect to reality in India and new breed of directors like dibakar are sure creating that foundation.
