Roots!!

I always used to think who the fck started popular mode of smashing guitars and drums and equipments? Notably I saw Greenday do that.. I saw Nirvana(kurty) do that... I saw hendrix burn some :/ and other real incinerating stuff.. But I never knew WHO started it? Yeah, "The Who" started it.. Pete Townshend to be precise.. :)
Was wondering the roots of music that I OFTEN listen to... and the more I try to dig about the origins of these bands the more and more intriguing features I get to know.. The more I try to find what were their influences, I get to know more bands that vanished which were even good than the one's that shined and made it big.. I was not a big fan of "The who" before listening to "Won't get fooled again" from 100 greatest guitaring solo's.. and after that I downloaded all their albums and I am now listening and its just pure brilliance.. It has all the ingredients that I always listened to like Nirvana, Iron maiden, Zeppelin, slash, lynyrd skynyrd, queen, hendrix and more.. most of the bands... and the music never changed like the other bands.. They normally transcend to rapcore, faggy, broody, religious and shit and stuff.. But even now "the who" rocks..
